In 1996, from the backyard of a pool and spa business, our founder and CEO, Dave Hatley, was inspired by the idea of making a leisure lifestyle affordable without compromising on quality. His humble beginnings in rural Elizabethton, TN, provided him with the inspiration to start a business committed to delivering products with a premium feel, prioritizing affordability so that families today could afford luxuries that were beyond the reach of his childhood. 

This inspiration created an unparalleled drive, work ethic, and passion to develop innovative and accessible products that enrich a family’s quality of life. What began as a company selling pools and spas transformed into the largest employee-owned hot tub manufacturing plant in the United States, producing hot tubs, swim spas, and cold plunges. With 91 locations, over 700 employees, and a steadfast pledge to growth, his passion for family has never wavered. Even as he works day-to-day in his businesses, most people who know him would consider him a true family man. 

In 2021, Dave decided to take a plunge into the golf cart industry, where he continued to develop the same core values: innovation, affordability, and more job creation in Tennessee. Thus, Whisper EV was born, producing and pushing the bounds of creativity found in all our carts. At Whisper EV, we’re not just manufacturing carts—we’re setting a new industry standard. Research, ingenuity, and the pursuit of excellence have breathed life into Whisper. Each of our carts’ distinctive body style and features is marked with our stealthy W logo, a seal that attests to modernity and style. Our calling is to craft the smoothest and most inventive electric lifestyle carts, redefining what a golf cart can be.
